Highly empathetic behavior is more indicative of personalities that are sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, while chronic feelings of inadequacy suggest a different set of psychological issues such as depression or low self-esteem. Additionally, a compulsive desire for approval reflects traits more typical of dependent personality styles rather than narcissism, which is characterized by a desire for admiration rather than approval.
